PocketPOSx
Overview
PocketPOSx ("the App", "we", "us") is a billing and inventory application for Android, developed to help small shops manage sales, stock, and customer credit. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App handles and how, so you can make an informed decision about using it.
PocketPOSx is built to work fully offline. We do not operate a server that stores your shop's business data — your bills, products, customers, and reports live on your device, in a local database, unless you explicitly export or back them up yourself.
Information we collect
PocketPOSx does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the App. The business data you enter — product names, prices, stock levels, customer names and khata balances, supplier details, purchases, expenses, and sales records — is created by you and stored locally on your device.
We do not collect, transmit, or have access to this business data. It is not uploaded to us or to any server we control.
Permissions we use
| Permission | Why it's needed |

| Camera | Used only to scan barcodes when adding or billing products. Camera frames are processed on-device for barcode recognition and are never stored or transmitted. |
| Bluetooth | Used only to connect to a Bluetooth thermal printer that you choose, so PocketPOSx can print receipts. No data is sent anywhere other than the printer you select. |
| Vibration | Used for scan feedback (a short vibration when a barcode is recognized), if enabled in Scanner settings. |
| Biometric / device lock | Used to let you lock the App with your fingerprint or device PIN. PocketPOSx never receives or stores raw biometric data — this is handled entirely by Android's Biometric API. |
How your data is stored
All business data is stored in a local database on your device. If you use the App's backup feature, backups are saved to a location you choose on your device (or a storage location you connect); we do not host, receive, or have access to these backup files.
If you uninstall the App or clear its storage from Android Settings, this locally stored data is permanently deleted from your device.
Third-party services
PocketPOSx uses the following third-party services to provide specific functionality:
- Google Play Billing — used to process the optional "Remove Ads" subscription. Payment details are handled entirely by Google; we only receive confirmation of whether a subscription is active so the App can hide ads accordingly. - Google ML Kit (on-device barcode scanning) — processes camera frames on your device to recognize barcodes. This processing happens locally and does not send images to Google's servers.
Advertising
The free version of PocketPOSx is supported by advertising. Where ads are shown, they may be served through a third-party advertising network, which can collect limited technical information (such as a device advertising identifier) in accordance with its own privacy policy, to show relevant ads. You can remove ads entirely with the optional yearly subscription described on our Pricing page.
Children's privacy
PocketPOSx is intended for business use by shop owners and staff and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices & data deletion
Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control of it:
- Export or back up your data at any time from within the App.
- Delete individual records (products, customers, sales, etc.) directly within the App.
- Erase all App data by clearing storage for PocketPOSx in Android Settings, or by uninstalling the App.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we introduce a new feature that changes how data is handled. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
